The best Thai restaurant in town! While all of the college kids flock to rice and spice, I am loving Pick Thai. The curry is better, they make the best pad thai, the soups are wonderful and full of ingredients, and they treat customers well! The atmosphere inside is very hole in the wall, but the food is wonderful! I get to go basically once a week! One note, the owners have a tendency to close for a week at a time during student holidays or sometimes just randomly. It's the only thing I dislike.
Definitely the best Thai food in Oxford - the other Thai restaurants pale in comparison. I love spicy food and with Pick Thai you get spice with all the flavor. I choose 3/4 spice level depending on the dish but I have friends who can't go over 2 spice level because here they know what they're doing. Price: you can't beat their lunch prices - huge servingsof food, typically under $10. I typically get Pick Thai to-go but on the rare occasion I sit down and eat there, the service has always been super quick and the staff are very attentive.
Pick Thai is hands down the best thai place in Oxford. I almost always just order takeout or order through a delivery service. I've eaten the pad see ew, drunken noodle, pad thai, and thai fried rice. I've also tried the Tom Kha soup and a few appetizers. Everything has been so flavorful, fresh, and delicious. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 just because the dishes can be extremely spicy at times even when a low spice option is requested. (This never tends to be a big issue with me, though since I love spicy food)
Awesome food - especially the pad Thai. The range of heat is 1-5 but anything less than a 5 is missing out. The decor is less than desirable and the lighting is dim, but if you want to lick your plate clean and get a good deal, this is the place to go in Oxford.
